| | Sarah has held a number of senior posts in local government, working with executive teams and Members to help make their organisations more effective. As a line manager she has always been interested in ensuring a constructive blend of challenge and support for her people. As an adviser Sarah is skilled at identifying what works well, along with helping senior teams productively face up to unpalatable truths | Her senior posts have included: Deputy Director of Social Services in Strathclyde Regional Council; Deputy Chief Executive at Glasgow City Council; Director of Finance and Strategic Director of Resources at Birmingham City Council; and Director of Economic and Environmental Policy at Local Government Association. In addition Sarah is a Commissioner of the Public Works Loan Board, Member of CIPFA Council, Member of AAT Council, Member of the Home Office Advisory Panel on Futurebuilders and a director of Social Care (Education) at a charitable trust. |
