We want to change our part of the local authority from good to great and Caret is working to help me do this.  Central to their ideas is having the right people in the right jobs and I’m now really enjoying tuning jobs to suit people.

I had a guy with high blood pressure, who was panicking because of being right outside his comfort zone with budgets and managing people.  I asked him, “What do you like to do?” He said, “I like a technical problem I can fix.” and I thought, I can fix that for him - I can make a role that does that.

Now his blood pressure is down, output up, he’s happy, his family is happier and we’ve found a new way to measure this success – we use his blood pressure as a Performance Indicator.
