Calm Water Sailing and White Water Rafting: Steering the Correct Course

Increasingly, leadership is complex, bordering on the chaotic, where few rules exist. Is it perhaps, time for leadership to ditch the notion of ‘great man’ traits such as ‘vigour in pursuit of goals’ in favour of a willingness to engage with uncertainty; to become preoccupied with asking great questions rather than being the 'expert' who provides the answer? And just as important is the skill of listening to others (some leaders are only good at listening to themselves).
